Please note that these guides are designed to report trends in a standardized fashion that can be compared across models, trims, and brands. Certain assumptions and extrapolations are made towards this pursuit, including $0 down, taxes and fees excluded, and incentives applied where applicable. Thus, these figures should be used as a trending tool rather than an accurate monthly payment or quote generator. Please consult your sales associate for an accurate quote.

Changes in incentives: Different bonus-eligible trims, 24-month leases
In keeping with last month, the May 2026 lease incentives include a $3k lease credit towards select trims. This month, those trims include the Dual Standard and Dual Max with Performance. The inclusion of the Dual Standard - already the cheapest trim of the R1S - to the bonus-eligible trims is a noteworthy change this month. This is further detailed below.
Additionally, this month’s $3k bonus also applies to 24-month leases, in addition to 36-month leases. Notably, the 24-month lease terms are worse deals (considerably higher monthly payment and %MSRP/mo), as is usually the case for shorter lease durations because depreciation is highest at the start of a lease. For this reason, the 24-month lease terms have been excluded from this guide.
Of note, there are additional lease bonuses of $2,200 towards vehicles with Stealth Package and $2,500 towards vehicles with Road Trip package. These are excluded from analysis because of the relative paucity of available vehicles with these packages at the time of analysis.
Lowest monthly payment: Dual Standard
Unsurprisingly, the Dual Standard yields the lowest monthly payment, starting at $899/mo with our assumptions. Remarkably, this reflects an almost $200/mo decrease from last month at $1,090. Budget-minded folks would be best served looking at the Dual Standard this month and can take solace in that its value (% MSRP/mo) is essentially flat regardless of options. In other words, both a base and fully optioned Dual Standard are the same value. It’s worth noting that the next cheapest trim this month is the Dual Large at $1,218/mo, which is a decent jump up from the Dual Standard.
Best value: Dual Standard
The addition of the $3k bonus and near-halving of the money factor/APR to the Dual Standard pushes it to a respectable 1.17% MSRP/mo this month, a significant drop from 1.42% last month - the biggest change between the two months. While overall by our standards this value is rated Fair, it is the best value between April and May by a decent margin; last month’s value lease was the Dual Large with Performance, at 1.36%.
Traps: 24-month leases, Tri, Quad
The biggest trap this month are the 24-month leases. For comparison, the Dual Standard on a 24-month vs 36-month lease has a higher MF of 0.00169 vs 0.00096, a higher estimated monthly payment from $1,063 compared to $899, and a worse % MSRP/mo at 1.38% compared to 1.17%. These differences hold true across all trims.
Leasing the top spec Tri and Quad trims comes at a premium. These trims again offer the worst value at 1.51% and 1.74% MSRP/mo respectively, marginally improved from last month. We’d opt for a Dual Max with Performance if we were deadset on a highly trimmed R1S which offers considerably better value and better range - and we think a 0-60 of 3.4s is plenty fast.
Overall winner: Dual Standard. (Runner-up: Dual Large with Performance)
The winner this month is the Dual Standard on a 36-month lease. It starts at $899/mo and leases at a respectable 1.17% MSRP/mo, helped by a $3k lease bonus and a near-halving of the money factor. While Rivian leases overall have been relatively uninspiring, this marks a meaningful change. The next best value across both months was the Dual Large with Performance last month at 1.36%.
For those vying for a higher trim, the Dual Large and Max trims are relatively similar in value and a decision can be made upon budget, preferences, inventory availability, etc. Strictly speaking, the value sweet spot among these would be the Dual Large with Performance which has the lowest MF at 0.00135 and % MSRP/mo at 1.40% (despite not being bonus-eligible this month).
Notes: These figures assume $0 down and exclude taxes and fees. Certain assumptions and extrapolations are made in order to best standardize the leasing data such that it is comparable across months, trims, and brands. Thus, these figures are geared more towards trending and less towards generating an accurate monthly quote. Actual monthly payment and lease terms (MF, RV%, etc) may vary.
