Rivian R1S Leasing Guide
June 2026
Overview
This guide is meant to provide information regarding the different trims and leasing structures available for the Rivian R1S. To view our leasing guide for the Rivian R1T (which has very similar leasing trends), click here. Please note that these guides are designed to report trends in a standardized fashion that can be compared across models, trims, and brands. Certain assumptions and extrapolations are made towards this pursuit, including $0 down, taxes and fees excluded, and incentives applied where applicable. Thus, these figures should be used as a trending tool rather than an accurate monthly payment or quote generator. Please consult your sales associate for an accurate quote.
Trims and Specifications
The R1S trims differ by number of motors (Dual, Tri, or Quad), battery size (Standard, Large, or Max), and an optional Performance software upgrade. The Tri and Quad motors come standard with a Max battery pack and Performance.
| Trim configuration | Battery pack | Horsepower | 0–60 mph | Max range (EPA est.) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dual standard | Standard (92.5 kWh) | 533 hp | 4.5 sec | ~270 miles |
| Dual large | Large (108.5 kWh) | 533 hp | 4.5 sec | ~329 miles |
| Dual large + performance | Large (108.5 kWh) | 665 hp | 3.4 sec | ~330 miles |
| Dual max | Max (141.0 kWh) | 533 hp | 4.5 sec | ~410 miles |
| Dual max + performance | Max (141.0 kWh) | 665 hp | 3.4 sec | ~410 miles |
| Tri-motor | Max (141.0 kWh) | 850 hp | 2.9 sec | ~371 miles |
| Quad-motor | Max (141.0 kWh) | 1,025 hp | 2.6 sec | ~374 miles |

Lease Analysis
Updated June 6.
Changes in incentives:
Different bonus-eligible trims on inventory vehicles.
Rivian is again offering $3,000 lease credit towards inventory vehicles on select trims. This month those trims include the Dual Large with Performance, Dual Max with Performance, and the Tri. This is a change from last month’s Dual Standard and Dual Max with Performance.
Additionally, a $1,000 price reduction is currently available for all Dual Large, Dual Max, and Tri inventory vehicles, and a $5,000 price reduction for Quad inventory vehicles.
Please note that the vehicles optioned with the Forest Edge package are not eligible for either of these bonuses.
For the purposes of this guide, we will assume both $3,000 lease credit and $1,000 price reduction bonuses are applied.
Improved promotional APR financing.
We’re taking a deeper dive in this month’s promotional APR financing in light of Rivian’s uninspiring leasing rates. Last month, Rivian was offering 1.99%/2.49% APR on 60/72 month loans for the DLP, DMP, and Tri. These are considerably improved this month, and worth seriously considering:
DLP and DMP: 0.99%/1.49% on 60/72-month loans
DS, DL, DM, and Tri: 1.99%/2.49% on 60/72-month loans
Lowest monthly lease payment: Dual Standard.
The base trim Dual Standard again yields the lowest monthly payment, starting at $1,089/mo. Unfortunately, this reflects a $190/mo increase from last month at $899. This is a reflection of both the money factor nearly tripling from 0.00051 (APR 1.22%) to 0.00135 (APR 3.25%) and the exclusion from the $3,000 lease credit. While it represents the cheapest monthly payment, its lease value has decreased considerably, from 1.14% MSRP/mo last month to 1.38% MSRP/mo this month. The next cheapest trim is the Dual Large with Performance at $1,249/mo, which, while a $160/mo premium over the Dual Standard, represents a considerable decrease in delta from last month, where the difference from the Dual Standard to the next cheapest trim (Dual Large) was $321/mo.
The takeaway - this month’s savings leasing a Dual Standard are considerably decreased compared to last month.
Best lease value: Dual Large with Performance and Dual Standard.
By a trivial margin, the DLP is the best value lease this month at 1.37% MSRP/mo (starting at $1,249/mo), helped by both the $3,000 lease credit and $1,000 price reduction. This offsets the month-to-month increase in money factor from 0.00097 (APR 2.32%) to 0.00170 (APR 4.08%). Despite being the best value this month, it remains overall a Fair rating on our scale, and is minimally changed from last month’s 1.37% MSRP/mo. As mentioned above, the Dual Standard is a close second starting at $1,089/mo, or 1.38% MSRP/mo.
Traps:
Not considering the math between leasing vs financing.
This month represents an overall worse month to lease an R1S, for every single trim. The Dual Large with Performance is the only trim that remains almost unchanged month-over-month. However, Rivian did considerably expand its incentives on financing. This month, you can stack a modest $1,000 price reduction with a promotional 1.49% APR on a 72-month loan on a DLP or DMP, which amounts to an effective monthly of roughly $1300/mo or $1400/mo, respectively, before taxes and fees. If we were dead-set on getting a Rivian this month, that would likely be our pick, as it represents a better value than leasing right now. Leasing anything other than a Dual Standard or Dual Large with Performance.
Outside of these trims, the lease value is not compelling. The next cheapest trim is a Dual Large, which starts at $1,320/mo but at 1.54% MSRP/mo - there is no reason to not opt for a Performance-upgraded trim if you can find a bonus-eligible inventory vehicle. The Dual Max with Performance is the next best lease value at an unimpressive 1.45% MSRP/mo, or starting monthly at $1,418/mo, worse than last month and overall a worse value than financing it instead.
Recommendations:
Financing a Dual Large with Performance or Dual Max with Performance.
As mentioned above, Rivian’s lease rates worsened across all trims this month, while their promotional APR rates improved considerably. The best APR rates are on a DLP and DMP and include 0.99%/1.49% on a 60/72-month loan. On a 72-month loan, these amount to an effective monthly of roughly $1300/mo or $1400/mo, respectively, before taxes and fees assuming $0 down. If we were dead-set on getting an R1S this month, that would be our pick, as these represent better values this leasing right now. If set on leasing: an inventory Dual Large with Performance or any Dual Standard.
Those set on leasing would find the best value in an inventory Dual Large with Performance, stacking the available $3,000 lease credit and $1,000 price reduction, to score a monthly lease starting at roughly $1,249/mo or 1.38% MSRP/mo. The next best value is in the incentive-excluded Dual Standard, starting at roughly $1,089/mo or 1.37% MSRP/mo, although this is considerably worse than last month’s deal. At that point, we might consider holding out for the R2 rates.
Notes: These figures assume $0 down and exclude taxes and fees. Certain assumptions and extrapolations are made in order to best standardize the leasing data such that it is comparable across months, trims, and brands. Thus, these figures are geared more towards trending and less towards generating an accurate monthly quote. Actual monthly payment and lease terms (MF, RV%, etc) may vary.
